Welcome Back, Kotter. Situation Comedy. Broadcast from September, 1975 through August, 1979 on ABC. This show was about a high school teacher, Gabe Kotter (Gabriel Kaplan) who came back to his old high school in the inner city to teach the toughest remedial students (a group called the Sweathogs) who were streetwise but unable to function in normal academic classes. The sweathogs included Vinnie Barbarino (John Travolta), the greaser who was the group’s leader, Arnold Horshak (Ron Palillo), the class yo-yo, “Boom-Boom” (Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs), the hip black kid, and Juan Epstein (Robert Hegyes), the Jewish Puerto Rican who wore black high top chucks. Many times he wore his chucks with no socks. They were also the old fashioned chucks with the black patch on the rubber sole. Epstein was a joker, somebody who does not let anything bother him. He always said what was on his mind and kept a positive outlook on himself and life. Some of the best regularly occurring bits in the show were the notes he would always give Mr. Kotter from his Mom and the infamous Epstein walk. He was one cool dude! Back to TV Show .

Who’s Line Is It Anyway? Comedy Improvisation. Broadcast from August, 1998 through September, 2007 on ABC and ABC Family. Now seen on the CW since July, 2013. This is an improvisational comedy show, which was originally hosted by Drew Carey on ABC and ABC Family. A revival of the show, hosted by Aisha Tyler, began airing on The CW in 2013. The series is a spin-off of the British show of the same name and features Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, and Wayne Brady as its regular performers with the fourth seat occupied by a guest panelist, most often Brad Sherwood or Greg Proops. The show consists of a panel of four performers who create characters, scenes and songs on the spot, in the style of short-form improvisation games. Topics for the games are based on either audience suggestions or predetermined prompts from the host, who would set up a game and situation that the performers would improvise. Since the revival on the CW, Ryan Stiles has been wearing either black or gray low cut chucks on the show. Back to TV Show .
