Chef Robert Irvine's Healthy Steak Recipes 3 Ways



Fat-burning sirloin steak

Ingredients

  • 1 sirloin steak
  • 1 glug of olive oil
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 baking potato
  • 1 handful of carrots
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar

Method

  • Heat a pan on a really high heat. Coat your sirloin in olive oil, peppercorns and Worcester sauce, then fry it. Don’t move it about too much just yet – let it sear.
  • Pierce the spud with a fork and microwave for 3min. When the microwave pings, that’s your signal to flip the beef. Turn the spud too and give it another 3min.
  • At the final ping, pluck the steak from the pan and set aside. Put the carrots in a bowl with a glug of soy sauce and pinch of sugar. Nuke ’em for 3min.
