The footwear giant is about to release a Capsule 2019 Pride Collection that features the LGBT’s rainbow flag. released their first BE TRUE collection back in 2012 and since then the company’s mission is to connect with their customers on a deeper level and make their products and sport accessible to all.
“Sporting your rainbow in the gym or on a run became a way to feel like you belonged to something larger, you were connected to being ‘out’ or being an ally,” Robert Gorman, LBGT Network Leader at Nike explained the idea behind the collection.
He also added that Nike will continue to take inspiration and incorporate the rainbow flag in their BE TRUE collections.
All of the shoes in the collection have the rainbow flag in some form and they deliver powerful messages at the same time. Onto the sock liners, there are empowering messages such as “RUN FIERCE” and “BEEN TRUE”.
Besides being stylish and fashionable the collection has a great purpose as well. Since the beginning in 2012 Nike has donated .5 million to support LGBT causes.
This collection features some of Nike’s great classics in a #BETRUE version. The suede Cortez style features a rainbow ribbon, the popular Swoosh design also got its #BETRUE equivalent. Lastly, the super cool VaporMax air unit got painted in the colors of the rainbow as well. Nike designed matching rainbow socks too.
The good news is that for the first time ever the collection will be available internationally.
“The key for us was to create something that people could unite around to show their support for LGBTQ athletes,” stated Robert Goman, Nike’s LGBT network leader.
Besides sneakers, Nike also released t-shirts with meaningful messages. Even Nike couldn’t resist the mega-popular unicorn trend and they featured the most beautiful legendary creature on one of their t-shirts. The multi-colored unicorn is placed in a black triangle with “BETRUE.” printed in the middle.
The collection will be available for purchase on June 5 at nike.com/betrue.
Nike is not the only company that decided to support the LGBT community with a separate collection. They bought Converse in 2003 and the brand also released a collection that features the rainbow flag and other Pride symbols. Levi’s also made a Pride Collection to raise awareness and offer support for issues such as homophobia, transphobia, and AIDS-phobia.

The newPuma ‘Do You’ summer 2019 campaignfeatures Cara Delevingne and a cute, wild cat. After fronting the sportswear giant’s fall 2019 and spring 2019 ‘Do You’ campaigns, Cara looks refreshing in this shoot, advertising some of the best Puma staples of the season and spreading women’s empowerment.
In the primary photo Cara is seen lying in a black and gold two-piece sports bra and brief set that is pretty fantastic. The briefs are high waisted and the design is overall very flattering but the most eye-catching feature of the photo is Cara’s co-star – an adorable puma cub. Sure Cara is fit and pretty and the outfit – again is amazing, but the puma cub is completely adorable staring into the camera, and telling you that although you cannot take them home, the outfit is something you can keep and look amazing in.
In another shot the puma cub is inspecting a light ‘Aruba blue’ ribbon laced Puma Suede Hearts low-top sneaker held by Cara who is in a Puma sweatshirt with the sleeves rolled up. The shots were sporty and interesting – a perfect extension of Cara’s initial Puma work after being cast by brand ambassador Rihanna.
Cute co-star aside the ‘Do You’ Puma summer 2019 campaign that Cara is fronting is centered on making a difference. The idea is to empower women without enforcing the concept that there is only one type of woman. The collection is designed to help encourage women’s self-confidence and inspire all women to embolden and teach the concept to other women as well.
To further meet this goal Cara and Puma are doing a documentary series that will highlight stories of female empowerment. The stories will come from Cara’s travels with the Girl Up foundation that is set up through the United Nations. The documentary series will be recording the stories that come up as Cara travels through Africa with Girl Up.
This isn’t Cara’s first foray into activism, as she has been holding on to that title for quite a while. The model, actress, ambassador, fashion icon and activist has been fighting against female centered stereotypes, blockages and assumptions for a good while. Her experiences have not worn her down; rather they have made her more vocal and willing to impress the points on others.
The Puma ‘Do You’ and the Girl Up campaigns are both great platforms for doing so that can help spread the message out to where it needs to reach. Fortunately Cara Delevingne is not the only public name and face helping out with these campaigns; the word is spreading thankfully and more and more women and girls are learning what they can do and who they can be, and that confidence in a woman is a great and admirable thing.

For those who have been anxiously anticipating theYeezy Calabasas collectionfrom Kanye West will certainly be pleased to find out that items are being revealed and some are nearly available for purchase. If you have been waiting in anticipation, it is certainly understandable for the level of hype that some are expecting.
The constant teasing over the last few months by both Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in a clear effort to keep bait on the hook seems to have paid off. Several people are already excitedly warning others to check their social media for new images as soon as their new orders come in.
The Yeezy Calabasas collection includes hats and socks, track pants and sweat shirts and, of course, the new Adidas. The new Adidas, called the Powerphase sneaker, are if nothing else fresh, clean and classic. Everyone loves a good set of Adidas anyway, so this is no surprise.
The Yeezy Calabasas sweatshirt will come in black with grey lettering on the sleeves, white with black lettering on the sleeves or burgundy with red lettering on the sleeves. The lettering will spell Calabasas lest anyone makes the mistake of not realizing that your sweatshirt cost multiple hundreds of dollars.
The track pants will come in a matching pair for the burgundy and red and black and grey sweatshirts, with the other being blue with burgundy detailing. There is even a pin for those who like to add things to backpacks and jackets. The details are concise, leaning only into the Calabasas name and variations of the color schemes with a few sporty stripes.
The Yeezy Calabasas collection is easygoing in design and minimalist in options leading to questions about the delay. It is definitely homage to the past with the elastic, gathered ankles of the track pants and the same treatment to the hem of the sweatshirt and the wrists. Depending on your love for the old school Hip Hop, breakdancing and beatboxing aesthetic, this collection could hold more than just an ‘in now’ appeal for certain individuals.
The price point is consistent with the previous offerings Kanye has released, with the Calabasas sweatshirt alone clocking in at 0 retail. Just the sweatshirt, not the whole look! Though the collection could arguably be considered as unisex clothing, in the photos for Surface Mag both A$AP Nast and Ganna Bogdan, the pieces look more like a couple coordinated set of ensembles.
The Yeezy Calabasas collection is cobranded by Adidas and more details are available upon request (by signing up for news updates) via yeezyzuppy.com. The website itself is as minimalist as the designs so it will be interesting to see where things will go from here and if the promised kids line will be making an appearance soon as well.

Tory Burch‘s Tory Sport fall 2019 collectionis ready to be seen and designed for lots of activities. The Tory Sport collection has launched with , and more for better distribution. The impending popularity of certain items within the collection is nearly guaranteed with the bold ‘check me out’ styling and practicality built into every item.
With a collection as humorously styled and incredibly functional as the Tory Sport fall 2019 collection, buyers are certain to be noticed. Most of the popular activities were supplied with options like reflective running gear and exercise gear, layers of ski clothes and golf and tennis attire. Many of the layers of clothing are seamless for increased comfort and flexibility.
The après ski sweaters and matching hat are cute, but the variety overall was what really astounds. If you have a planned activity, Tory Burch’s Tony Sport fall 2019 collection has an option for you designed to comfortably attire and prepare and support you through the activities of choice.
The Tory Sport fall 2019 collection covers any fall vacation need from the fur-lined hood to microfiber down parka and quilted snow boots for those planning to enjoy the slopes. If more sun and fun types of activities are on your docket, then the unexpected but very cool spotlighted item for tennis styling – an ultra bright and boxy jacket made of the same material as a tennis ball is here for you. This jacket is clearly one of the headlining pieces due to its brightness and the ingenuity of the design.
According to Tory Burch, who was both surprised and pleased herself with the reality of the jacket, she was delighted. “Apparently, it’s never been used before for clothing,” Burch revealed, all without missing a step during a walk-through of her Tory Sport fall 2019 collection. “It’s not that itchy at all either, which I was worried about.” The jacket is phenomenal, paired with a pleated white tennis skirt and a white top with a tennis ball focus in the center.
Tory Burch’s Tory Sport fall 2019 collection is certainly bright and summer activity ready with a great focus on the true usability of the clothing clearly playing a major role in the design. Runners for example, especially those who run at night can be visible for safety reasons without sacrificing a fun and clever aesthetic.
The tennis gear will move and breathe with you, not an ounce of hindrance that could slow down your game. The cleverness and chicness of the collection not only go hand in hand with the comfort of the wearer, but also the clear intent to make these designs as functionable as possible is going to make a big difference in sales.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding hijabs in recent years, but Nike took a stand by putting out the “Nike Pro Hijab.” These performance hijabs are sleek and practical so that Muslim athletes are able to enjoy the same workouts without the same struggles of their everyday coverings.
Amna Al Haddad, an Olympic weightlifter, suggested the offer when she visited the label’s sport research lab in Beaverton, Oregon. She said she had a sport hijab, but that it needed to be hand-washed each time she competed.
Nike proceeded to work on the design for 13 months before coming out with the Nike Pro Hijab silhouette. The active brand had to consider many different aspects when designing their looks; for practicality, breathability was a must, as the Arab Gulf countries can sometimes reach upwards of 130 degrees Fahrenheit (54.4 degrees Celsius). Practicality also called for flexibility, security, and the possibility for easy washing.
But designers also had to take into consideration religious and cultural values, so balancing all of these aspects took quite a while to finalize.
“The Nike Pro Hijab may have been more than a year in a making, but its impetus can be traced much further back, to an ongoing cultural shift that has seen more women than ever embracing sport,” Nike said in a statement.
Nike first released a commercial, which was shot in Dubai, to announce the new innovation. It featured Muslim athletes like Amal Mourad, an Emirati Parkour coach; Zahra Lari, the first Emirati to become an international-level figure skater, and the first to wear a hijab in the Olympics; Arifa Bseiso, a boxer from Jordan; Balqees Fathi, a singer from Saudi Arabia; and Ines Boubakri, an Olympic medalist and fencer from Tunisia.
“What will they say about you?” narrator Fatima Al-Banawi, an actress from Saudi Arabia, asked the women in the spot. In response, the athletes were shown training and competing in an empowering series of clips.
“There are barriers for many people to access sport, and some of these barriers are unique to woemn and girls,” Megan Saalfeld, a global spokeswoman, said on Al Arabiya English. “We want to help break down these barriers and encourage and enable more women to be pioneers in sport.”
Supporters took to Twitter, like Rowaida Abdelaziz, the world social media editor for the Huffington Post.
“As a jijab wearing athlete, I’m stoked for @nike’s pro hijab line. Moreso I love that its approved/featured by ACTUAL hijab wearing athletes,” her tweet read. She, and others, said they loved the authenticity of the product and the way in which it was released.
“… it fulfills a real need for many women. I hope other companies compete, too!” Read part of a tweet by freelance journalist Ismat Sarah Mangla.
Along these lines of competition, this release already has supporters looking ahead for the brand.
“Nike Tech Fleece Hijabs in the winter,” wrote @SirBryanMichael. It wouldn’t be all that surprising and would actually be another practical option for Muslim athletes, if Nike plans to expand in the future.
The Nike Pro Hijab will finally hit stores next year, in spring 2019.

Reebok has just dropped one of its most iconic ad campaigns ever, which, of course, sees It-girl Gigi Hadid as its ultimate protagonist. For theReebok Classic spring 2019 campaign, Reebok also tapped photographer of the moment Monica May, infusing the overall campaign with an inspirational empowering allure.
The partnership between Gigi Hadid and Reebok was announced by the sportswear label back in October 2019, with this specific Reebok Club C Classic spring 2019 campaign being the first result of this agreement. Dubbed “Diamond”, Reebok’s spring campaign took both Monica May and Gigi Hadid to the Art Factory, which is a suggestive 19th-century industrial building in Paterson, New Jersey.
The campaign’s pictures see Reebok’s iconic Pack Club C sneakers, the location’s imposing settings and Gigi Hadid’s captivating personality as the sole protagonists, with the latter being enhanced by different jocose poses. Available in white, black, oatmeal and silver, Reebok’s signature sneakers complete Hadid’s pantless looks, also emphasizing the different cosy sweatshirts the model dons for the campaign.
Since Reebok is currently going through a sort of revival that truly celebrates the label’s glorious past, its director of the Women’s Classics department Michelle Palmer took the time to explain why they tapped Gigi as Reebok’s brand ambassador for 2019, as well as why they decided to focus on this specific pair of shoes.
“An international icon, Gigi is the perfect validator of the Club C and Classics. We love working with Gigi because she doesn’t hide who she is — she’s bold and confident — she doesn’t do what’s expected, she has character and personality,” Palmer explained in an official press note.
“Since its debut in 1985, the Club C has left its mark as an iconic performance tennis court shoe, and a timeless classic in casual streetwear. The shoe’s smart yet understated design made it a club favorite both on the court and on the streets. Fast forward to today and the Club C has emerged as a modern-day streetwear icon, all while staying true to its original design 30-plus years later. In 2019 we will celebrate this silhouette with continual drops throughout the year, kicked off this week by Reebok partners Kendrick Lamar and Gigi Hadid.”
While this Reebok Classic spring 2019 campaign just debuted on the brand’s social media channels, all of the different Reebok Club C shoes Gigi Hadid is showcasing in the campaign will hit the stores, as well as online on starting from February 2019 (no official, specific date has been revealed yet).

The newIvy Park spring 2019 campaignis everything that could be expected of Ivy Park, packed with athleticism and star power, good intentions and meaningful imagery. Starring in the campaign ad is a group of women, who are socially conscious and fashionably aware. The cast of the ad campaign is impressive, including models, athletes, actresses, and, of course, socially conscious activists. Currently, the collection is available at , , and .
The Ivy Park spring 2019 collection includes lace up sweatshirts, awesome Ivy Park branded hoodies and garters and bodysuits, many of which feature cut outs, as well as expected compression pants and sports tops. Costs are reasonable, ranging from to throughout the collection.
Obviously Beyoncé, who recently broke the Internet announcing her pregnancy on Instagram, is in Topshop’s Ivy Park spring 2019 ad campaign, but we also see a few other incredible people like Yara Shahidi, the sixteen-year-old activist and actress who is currently starring on the TV showBlackish. Not only is she an activist, but she is also a black belt in Karate and she makes certain to express how Karate and being physically fit works with her activism.
According to Yara this combination works for her because “Karate influences activism in so many ways. Partly because it’s a self-discipline and learning 1) how to humble yourself and 2) how to stay centered… When you’re centered, it’s easy to do all the other things you want to do.”
The daughter of Lauryn Hill – Selah Marley is also in the campaign and she is as proactively minded as her mother and her famous grandfather Bob Marley. As a former gymnast and current model, Selah prefers to stay in shape using basketball currently. The Ivy Park spring 2019 ad campaign also features rising star model Sophie Koella, who is an avid skier, passionate about the comradery of female athletes and the fashionable comfort of athleisure.
Sophie Koella also has an incredible Instagram page. In an interview with , she said: “The most inspirational part of working for Beyoncé’s Ivy Park is how the brand is built around elevating and empowering girls of all sorts and all ages.”
Selah Marley, who agrees stated: “Sports are usually only geared towards men, and [it is empowering] simply shining a light on the fact that yes, women play sports and yes, we’re also great at what we do. I love that it highlights that women are capable of anything and we can dominate anywhere we go.”
Beyoncé’s protégés – twins Chloe and Halle Bailey are also in the campaign video and will be seen in the newest images of the Ivy Park campaign that are scheduled to be released in March 2019. Each of options in the Ivy Park spring 2019 collection is incredible looking and sure to be a hit, just like the great majority of things Beyoncé is involved with.

FKA Twigs teaming up with Nike is exciting as a concept, but the amount of latitude Nike gave her turns a cool concept into something completely amazing. FKA Twigs will be the spokesperson for the Nike Zonal Strength tights, available on , – she also designed the campaign, top to bottom, concept to casting, directing and even starring in it.
The Nike x FKA Twigs campaign shows off a cast of 12 athletes handpicked by Twigs to show off the compression leggings in a variety of poses and incredible visuals in a cinematic campaign for Nike that is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Some of the famous athletes cast for the campaign include dancer Saskia Horton, karate champion Jay Kirton, Olympic greats Miles Chamley-Watson, who competed as a fencer and English Garner, track and field star. The campaign for the Nike Zonal tights was shot in Mexico City by David Uzochukwu.
In an email sent to , FKA Twigs said: “When Nike reached out to me about collaborating on this project, I saw it as an opportunity to inspire people who want to use their bodies in a positive way. We cast a group of amazing people who take their physicality seriously and have their own sense of style, to push people to be healthy and understand, through any genre of sport, they can be the best versions of themselves.”
Everything about this campaign is innovating and the overall aesthetic is attention grabbing at the very east. According to FKA Twigs, “the campaign shows the nature of modern movement through a unique creative lens. Modern movement means exploring any genre of sport without boundaries. This could be dance or other forms of fitness. Modern movement is the culture of expression of strength, power, courage, will, and confidence.”
The Nike Women’s Zonal Strength tights are meant to be high tech compression wear, designed to reduce muscle vibrations. The video has a high energy feel to it (and I am in love with FKA Twigs’ braids as well) showing off the tights in every shot.
FKA Twigs makes her motivation and artistic intent clear with the campaign. Twigs says: “I made the song in the campaign film, “Trust In Me,” before I got approached about this project. I realized it would be perfect, because the lyrics say, “Put your trust in me.” In a way, we’re asking people to look at me and the other amazing athletes in the video and trust the way we are. We’ve worked hard to perfect our crafts and create our own destinies, and we’re feeling good in our bodies.”
There is obviously a lot for them to feel good about, as the video shows off the athleticism of both the cast of the campaign and the Nike Zonal Strength tights shown in the campaign. The Nike and FKA Twigs collaboration is an interesting winner that is incredibly fun to watch.
