Hi! Vermont Gal,

It's so nice to meet a fellow writer, one who likes to write, but sadly the wikiHow way can be rather confusing at first. Unfortunately I reverted your fine edits for changing a diaper as each sentence must start with an action. i.e. Dump feces, wipe bottom, etc. I love to write the way you do: If you need to cleanse the bottom...but unfortunately this is not the wiki way. It kept me confused for a bit of time.

I have to mentally think about starting each sentence with an action.

The tips section is where you can write how you like including the If you want, need, etc...so there is a bit of freedom.

Please contact me, if you like, I'd love to chat.

Hi There,

You have been here for only a short time, but you have helped wikiHow blast off. I hope you stay and help our site even more in the future. As you already know, anyone can edit a wiki, and you have taken full advantage of this opportunity. You should also expect your contributions to be modified or improved by others. Changes should be viewed in the spirit of improvement and not as a criticism of your approach or capabilities. On the other hand, when editing someone else's work, always be friendly, civil, and supportive. Assume good faith in everyone's efforts.

The sky is the limit, and you are a huge help to blast through the wikiAtmosphere!!!

Good luck, and I hope you have a long future on wikiHow.

My girlfriend wears 'ballerina' style shoes, with thin socks and half of my house smells like rotten Cheetos, and it takes her 2-3 washes to make her feet acceptable.

Thanks for adding images to articles! Just a quick, friendly reminder that the best image for any article is a picture of someone doing the task the article describes. Hey,

I'm doing a community survey as part of my research for a Wikimania conference presentation and since you're an active member of this community, I was wondering if you'd be willing to answer a few questions? This is the first official community survey we've ever done at wikiHow so it'd be great if you could take part. There are only five questions and it should take you no more than a few minutes to answer them. Check it out:

All of the answers you submit will be kept confidential, and when I share my findings for the presentation everything will be anonymous (no usernames). Having this kind of information is going to be really helpful not just for us, but for other sites like Wikipedia that want to learn from us. The more people who take the survey, the more accurate the data will be.

If you have any questions about the research please let me know! I hope you can take the survey. I'm pretty excited about telling people at Wikimania about our community :)

Hi, VermontGal!
While reviewing images for appropriate licensing information, I found that you may have forgotten to assign a license to one or more pictures that you uploaded. I just wanted to verify whether you made these pictures yourself or got them from somewhere else:

If you got images from a search engine or a website you found, please let me know which site - images that are copyrighted can't be used on wikiHow and have to be removed. However, if you've confirmed that an image is freely licensed for use on a site like wikiHow (e.g. if they have the right kind of "Creative Commons" or "Public Domain" license), we can correct the licensing on the image.
You can also , if that's easier. Images found to be missing appropriate licensing information will be deleted in 1-2 weeks unless it's determined they can be licensed for use on wikiHow. If there's anything I can help you with, now or in the future, don't hesitate to contact me, or leave a message for the Help Team. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks again!

Maniacsaid:

Hi,

Thank you for the response back to the image licensing notification you've received. No worries regarding the images - I know that licensing images for use on wikiHow is a complex subject!

Most images found on a search engine (Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc.) are usually copyrighted and cannot be used on wikiHow. If you find an image on a search engine that you really want to use, you can always ask the owner of the website (or whomever uploaded/created the image initially) for permission to use it on wikiHow.

We do have a search tool to find images that you are welcome to use on wikiHow. If you are editing an article, follow the instructions provided to you in the previous message, which explain how to add an image directly to the article. If you are not within an article but would still like to upload an image, here is a good tool that you can use: http://www.wikihow.com/Special:ImportFreeImages

Images found on Wikimedia Commons, the Creative Commons image database, and a few other websites that use Creative Commons licenses are free to use as well. As long as the image is licensed under Creative Commons, GFDL, or Public Domain it is OK for wikiHow. Of course, any image that you create yourself and would like to use on wikiHow is fine as well.

Unfortunately, because the image(s) may be copyrighted and we do not know the proper license for use on wikiHow, I will have to delete them. If you have any other questions, feel free to reply back.

Thank you for your understanding,

Hello VermontGal. I just stumbled upon your edit to Celebrate Anti Valentine's Day as I was patrolling recent changes and I ended up reverting it. I'd be happy to explain in further detail, if you'd like to know. I'm also willing to consider that I misunderstood your edit, and that maybe it isn't against policy after all. Write back if you think that's the case. Thanks!

What causes sagging of breasts? You really should learn some real scientific facts! Those women you speak of with saggy breast from non-bra wearing cultures have lost breast mass from breast feeding and most middle aged women loose breast mass because of loss of hormones and breast tissues not because of not wearing a bra!

Sagging or drooping of breasts is a natural, inevitable process that happens to all women at some point, except to women with fairly small breasts.

The most notable sagging happens with the process called breast involution (see below), but breasts can start drooping a little at any age, because they do NOT have muscles in them. They have ligaments and connective tissue.

When the gravity pulls the breasts down, those ligaments and the skin can stretch, and so the breast then droops. This depends on the elasticity of your skin and of your ligaments, as determined by your genes and diet, and also on normal aging processes. Obviously large breasts will sag easier since the gravity is pulling them down more. When breasts bounce during active sports, such as tennis, those ligaments can also be stretched or even torn. A good sports bra can minimize that effect, and is recommendable.

Breast involution is a process where the milk-making system inside the breast shrinks because it is not needed anymore. This happens either after weaning, or right after pregnancy if the woman does not breastfeed at all, or during menopause. When the tissues inside the breast shrink, and the skin surrounding it doesn't, the breast can look "empty" and saggy. After weaning, a woman's body usually deposits fat back to the breast (this process takes months), so that breasts will gain their pre-pregnancy size, but sagging usually remains.

Another common cause for sagging is when a woman loses weight. When you lose weight, some of that fat disappears from your breasts. Typically the skin and the ligaments inside the breasts do not retract accordingly, resulting in an 'empty' looking breast that then sags. (You could try prevent this by eating foods that provide extra good nutrition for your skin.)

Worries about sagging breasts is one of the most popular questions sent to this website. So if you feel your breasts droop, you are most certainly not alone!

Note: A scientific study that studied the effects of breastfeeding upon sagging, found that breastfeeding per se did not have an affect upon the sagging. However, pregnancy DID, because of the great physical changes that happen in the breasts during pregnancy. According to the study, the following were risk factors for an increased degree of breast sagging: body mass index (BMI), the number of pregnancies, a larger pre-pregnancy bra size, smoking history, and age. It's so nice to learn more about your hometown. How many degrees does it get down to? Does the snow usually come around the end of December?

A lot depends on geography... I live near Lake Champlain, so temperatures are warmer than in the mountains. The coldest I've experienced is -20F. We typically have snow by mid December and it lingers until April or May, when Mud Season happens.

Hi there,

I'm running an official wikiHow editor survey and I was wondering if you could help out by participating? This survey should take you about 5 minutes to complete. You can learn more about this research . I would really appreciate it if you could take it within a week. Hi. I was fascinated to see you working on your ten year old article today. Good on you checking up and working on an older article - I like that here articles are never "finished" and can always be improved on. I read an article you wrote about planting native plants, I hope you don't mind but I edited it a little to make each step start with a very as I belive is the done thing around here - I'm prepared to be corrected though, especially by someone with as much experience as you. I'm pleased to have found your articles and talk page today and i enjoyed reading what you've written.
